The Proto-Ionic Capital found in the City of David

A capital that very likely was part of King David's Palace at the top of the City of David. It's Phoenician style dates it exactly to the time when King Hiram of Tyre (Phoenicia) assisted King David in the building of his palace. It was found by Kathleen Kenyon during the 1960's.

It can be seen today in the Israel Museum.
